This excursion is the only one of its kind in Patagonia since it combines the observation of open-sky stars with a telescope, projections on the galaxies, nebulas and stars, reviewing of constellations and their mythology, dinner by candlelight next to the fire and a night journey in 4x4.
The tour starts in the city of El Calafate at 9:45 pm when we pick you up at your hotel in Land Rovers 4x4 and head south towards the Estancia 25 de Mayo Natural Reserve. From here begins a unique experience crossing Patagonian gravel roads in the dark until we arrive at the old estancia post called La Sección, which belonged to the first inhabitants of the estancia and is located very close to the border with Chile. Upon arrival, you will have in front of the fire a candlelit dinner that includes a cheese board, lamb stew, chocolate mousse, wine, whiskey, Calafate liqueur and a sweet table.
Then, we go out for the open-sky star sighting with a telescope where an astronomer will explain about the galaxies, nebulas and stars, reviewing the constellations and their mythology and combining the explanation with projections in the sky.
Finally, you will return to your hotel in El Calafate at about 1:30 am having enjoyed watching the stars (astrotourism) in one of the ten best skies in the world to do this activity.
