At 6:45 Am we will pick you up at your hotel in El Calafate and begin the journey towards Torres del Paine in Chile. Crossing the patagonian steppe from north to south you will arrive at the border named Cancha Carrera (3.5 hours drive from El Calafate), from where you will start travelling through the beautiful south of Chile and enter the Torres del Paine National Park arriving around 12:00 Am.
By default, programs are organized with low technical walking difficulty and minimal physical demands, and may, if the group is suitable, perform more demanding routes. All walks are held in the company of our trekking guides. On board 4 x 4 overland trucks you will visit strategic points from where you can enjoy hiking and accessing to scenic overlooks of the most important natural attractions of the park.
In Laguna Amarga, taking advantage of the potential of the 4x4, you will border the lagoon by its sand coasts, to gain access to the best panoramic view of the Torres del Paine. There we make a stop for a short hike.
Then we will continue to the Paine Waterfall where we will picnic on the banks of the Paine River overlooking the Towers. Lunch is taken outdoor protected by the vegetation. We will have a picnic on the mountain, protected by the infrastructure of our Overland trucks. Lunch boxes are included and are abundant, so they keep adventurers fed throughout the day.
Once underway again, and after making stops at various lookout points (Lake of the Swans, Superior Mirador Nordenskjold), we arrive at Salto Grande, from where we hike to the viewpoint of the Horns of Paine on the shores of Lake Nordenskjold. This walk is guided and takes about 2 hours. Then, we continue in the vehicle until a new lookout point in the vicinity of Lake Pehoe, where we will have one of the most famous views of the National Park, with the Horns and the French Valley as background, surrounded by lakes and Nordenskjold Pehoe.
We return to El Calafate at 21:00 approximately. The timetable can vary arriving until 23:00 in the case of delays related to the immigration procedures, mechanical breakdowns, delay of passengers that get on the bus in Chile, etc.
You must consider that the journey inside Torres del Paine National Park can be modified or shortened depending on the road conditions and border crossing times may vary depending on traffic. Besides, it is important to know that each passenger is responsible for carrying the required documentation for the border crossing.
