Description

Description
The Lower Valley full day excursion from Puerto Madryn explores the main attractions of the Chubut River Valley through an itinerary that combines paleontology, history, Welsh architecture and rural landscapes, allowing visitors to discover the legacy of the first settlers and some of the most important scientific discoveries in Patagonia.

The excursion begins in the morning with the transfer from Puerto Madryn south along National Route 3. The first stop is at the impressive recreation of the Patagotitan Mayorum, considered one of the largest dinosaurs ever to walk the Earth. Its enormous size provides a remarkable perspective on the magnitude of this species, discovered in Chubut Province and now regarded as one of the region's greatest paleontological icons.

The tour then continues to the city of Trelew, where a brief city tour is followed by free time to optionally visit the Egidio Feruglio Paleontological Museum (MEF), one of South America's most important natural science museums. Its modern exhibition halls feature complete dinosaur skeletons, original fossils and life-size reconstructions that take visitors through millions of years of Patagonia's natural history.

The excursion continues to Gaiman, one of Argentina's best-preserved Welsh settlements. While strolling through its peaceful streets, visitors will discover historic chapels, heritage buildings, the old railway station and other sites that reflect the legacy of the first Welsh immigrants. Those who wish may also enjoy the traditional Welsh tea experience, served with a delicious assortment of homemade cakes, breads and traditional pastries.

Finally, the excursion visits the town of Dolavon, a small village in the Lower Valley that has preserved much of its historical identity. A city tour showcases its main attractions, including the Old Mill, the former railway station and buildings with distinctive Welsh architecture, before returning to Puerto Madryn, completing a memorable day discovering the historical, cultural and scientific heritage of the Chubut River Valley.
