Description

Description
Rafting: Río de Las Vueltas is an excursion that combines nature, adrenaline, and some of Patagonia’s most iconic landscapes. The activity begins at the meeting point in downtown El Chaltén, where participants are transferred to the banks of the Río de las Vueltas, located just outside the town. Before starting the rafting adventure, which is suitable for both beginners and experienced participants, specialized guides provide a comprehensive technical and safety briefing.

The rafting takes place on the Río de las Vueltas, a glacier-fed river that originates at Lago del Desierto and flows into Lake Viedma. The total route covers approximately 16 kilometers, divided into two sections of 6 and 10 kilometers respectively, combining calm stretches of water with exciting rapids that add action and fun to the experience. During the, navigation, participants will enjoy privileged views of the Andean-Patagonian forests, surrounding mountains, and the impressive natural scenery that characterizes the region.

During the first kilometers, the river features calm, winding waters that flow through the Andean forest and offer views of Mount Fitz Roy and its satellite peaks while participants practice paddling techniques.

As the journey progresses, the river enters a spectacular natural canyon where the most intense part of the experience takes place. Here, numerous Class III and III+ rapids provide the perfect combination of adrenaline, fun, and teamwork, always under the supervision of professional guides.

The rafting experience lasts approximately 1,5 hours, depending on river conditions. At the end of the 16-kilometer descent, participants are served a hot drink and a snack sweet or savory, depending on the scheduled time.

The combination of breathtaking scenery, exciting rapids, and services specially designed for the activity makes Chaltén Rafting: Río de Las Vueltas one of the most attractive adventure excursions available in El Chaltén.
