Description

Description
Trekking: Laguna Torre full day is one of the most iconic hikes in Los Glaciares National Park and an excellent choice for those seeking a moderately challenging experience. This full-day excursion, departing from El Chalten, follows trails through Andean-Patagonian forests, rivers and glacial valleys until reaching spectacular viewpoints with privileged views of the Cerro Torre massif, its granite spires and the glaciers descending from the Andes. The hike concludes at Laguna Torre, an impressive glacial lake where floating icebergs and the surrounding mountains create one of Patagonia's most representative landscapes.

The excursion begins with pick-up from the agreed meeting point in El Chalten and transfer to the trailhead, where the route enters a magnificent glacial valley leading to Laguna Torre, facing Cerro Torre and the Adela Range. The trail features a gradual elevation gain and relatively accessible terrain, offering open landscapes, views of hanging glaciers and, depending on conditions, the chance to see floating icebergs on the lake.

During the first hour of the hike, the trail climbs gently through forests and open areas until reaching the Cerro Torre Viewpoint (3.5 km), where breathtaking panoramic views of the granite massif and its surrounding glaciers await.

From there, the journey continues for approximately two more hours through glacial valleys, Andean-Patagonian forests and transition zones, in an increasingly open landscape dominated by the surrounding mountains.

Finally, you reach Laguna Torre (8.1 km), a spectacular glacial lake surrounded by towering peaks, where you can enjoy one of the closest and most impressive views of the Cerro Torre massif, together with the Adela Range, Cerro Solo and their surrounding glaciers.

At Laguna Torre, there will be time to rest and admire the immensity of the landscape in a remote and peaceful setting. Here, you can enjoy the lunchbox that we recommend bringing from town.

Finally, you will return to El Chalten along the same trail, covering 11.6 km after enjoying one of Patagonia's most iconic landscapes and completing one of the most famous hikes in Argentina's National Trekking Capital.
