Description

Description
The Viedma Boat Tour excursion allows you to discover from El Chaltén one of the most remote areas of Los Glaciares National Park and get close to the impressive Viedma Glacier, the largest glacier in Argentina. Throughout the tour, you will navigate Lake Viedma among icebergs and enjoy an easy hike to a panoramic viewpoint at Iceberg Bay, followed by a close approach to the glacier's front wall.

If the excursion is booked with transportation included, the tour begins in the city center of El Chalten at 9:50 a.m., from where you will depart to Tunel Bay Port, located at 18 km from town. Guests choosing the option without transportation must arrive directly at the port for boarding at 10:30 a.m.

The navigation begins across the waters of Lake Viedma with views of the Huemul Massif and the Andes Mountains. After approximately 40 minutes, there is a landing at Cabo de Hornos Bay for a short and easy walk to a natural viewpoint offering excellent views of Iceberg Bay and its impressive floating ice formations.

The journey then continues towards Viedma Glacier. During the navigation, the boat approaches the glacier's front wall, allowing passengers to admire its towering ice formations, crevasses and floating icebergs from a privileged perspective. At this point, the snack included in the excursion will be served.

At the end of the navigation, the boat returns to Tunel Bay Port, arriving at approximately 2:30 p.m. Passengers with transportation included will return to El Chalten, while those without transportation will conclude the excursion at the port. This experience is ideal for those who from El Chalten wish to combine a boat tour, mountain scenery and the opportunity to admire one of Patagonia's most spectacular glaciers.
