Description

Description
The Submarine Whale Watching excursion begins in Puerto Piramides, the only location in Peninsula Valdes where whale watching navigations depart. Aboard the Yellow Submarine semi-submersible, specially designed for this experience, you will enjoy an approximately 1.5-hour navigation across Golfo Nuevo, sailing within a radius of up to ten miles from the coast, depending on the whales location.

An optional round-trip transfer from your accommodation in Puerto Madryn is available, turning the experience into a full-day excursion. The land tour also includes visits to some of Peninsula Valdes main attractions, such as the Carlos Ameghino Interpretation Center, the Sea Lion Colony, Bird Island and, when tidal conditions allow, El Doradillo Beach, renowned for its exceptional opportunities to observe whales from the shore.

Unlike a traditional whale watching tour, the semi-submersible features an underwater cabin equipped with 40 panoramic windows, allowing passengers to observe the whales as they swim beneath the surface. You are free to move between the underwater cabin and the upper deck, enjoying two different ways of experiencing whale watching in a single excursion, while a bilingual guide shares fascinating information about these magnificent marine mammals and the ecosystem of Golfo Nuevo.

In addition to whale watching, the navigation also offers the opportunity to spot sea lions and a variety of Patagonian coastal bird species, especially during spring, in a spectacular natural setting that makes Peninsula Valdes one of the world's finest destinations for marine wildlife observation.

Submarine Whale Watching is the perfect excursion for travelers seeking a truly different experience during whale season, combining traditional whale watching with the unique opportunity to observe these gentle giants from the underwater world aboard the famous Yellow Submarine.
