Cerro Frias Trekking

Cerro Frias Trekking is a half-day tour in El Calafate area in which you visit calmly the valley at the foot of this hill while you see wild animals and marvel at spectacular views of The Andes, Lake Argentino, Mount Fitz Roy and Torres del Paine.

Cerro Frias is located near the city of El Calafate, on the way to the Perito Moreno Glacier and, since it is not part of the Andes, it allows to appreciate spectacular panoramic views of Torres del Paine, Cerro Fitz Roy, Cordon de los Cristales, Rico Arm, North Arm and main body of Lake Argentino, Boca del Diablo, Magallanes Peninsula and Avellaneda Peninsula.

The tour begins when you are picked up from your hotel in El Calafate and undertake the 25 km journey to Cerro Frias. There, from Hosteria Eolo the trekking through the Centinela River Valley begins at the foot of Cerro Frias.

Within a few minutes of starting, you already have important views of the Centinela Valley, Lake Argentino and Torres del Paine. You can also see cows, guanacos, hares and wild foals. After a 2 hours low difficulty trekking through the river valley in the Patagonian steppe, you return to Hosteria Eolo.

Upon reaching the base of the hill, you will have free time in the barbecue area to eat the lunchbox or the snack. After this tour, you start the journey back to the city of El Calafate and to your hotel.
