Description

Description
The Gourmet Glaciers Experience tour offers the most exclusive service to Los Glaciares National Park from El Calafate. On this tour, you'll sail the waters of Lake Argentino aboard the Maria Turquesa Cruise and visit the Upsala, Spegazzini, and Perito Moreno glaciers. This is the only excursion that allows you to see all three of Argentina's main glaciers in a single day, combining it with a walk through the forest in the Spegazzini Channel.

On this excursion, in addition to disembarking in the forest within the Spegazzini Channel and visiting the Upsala, Spegazzini, and Perito Moreno glaciers on the same day, you can also add the Perito Moreno Glacier disembark at the balconies.

If you book Gourmet Glaciers with pickup from your hotel in El Calafate, we'll pick you up at 7:00 a.m. to take you to Punta Bandera Port, located 47 km from the city. From there, you will begin the tour towards the ice barrier of the Upsala Channel, then cross it and head towards the Spegazzini Glacier, the tallest glacier in the national park, from where you will descend to Puesto de las Vacas.

Here, the Maria Turquesa Cruise's engines go silent, and an interesting hike led by the team of guides takes place. Once back on the boat, the excursion continues sailing towards the Perito Moreno Glacier while a gourmet lunch or a gourmet lunch box is offered on board for those who have included these services. After visiting this third glacier, you will return to the Port of Punta Bandera, where you will then return to your hotel in El Calafate after sailing past ancient, deep-blue glaciers surrounded by the full extent of Patagonian nature.

The Maria Turquesa Cruise has capacity for 200 passengers across two lounges (the Main Deck with capacity for 180 passengers and the Premium Deck with capacity for 16 passengers) and is aimed at travelers seeking personalized attention and excellent service on board. The boat stands out for its four exterior decks, which allow you to comfortably contemplate the majesty of the glaciers and landscapes.

If a passenger books the descent on the Perito Moreno Glacier balconies, how does he/she return to El Calafate?

Is the experience cancelled due to bad weather?
The excursion is not cancelled due to weather conditions, as it takes place in Patagonia, where changing weather is common. For this reason, it is recommended to follow the clothing guidelines to be prepared for any eventuality during the experience.
Can passengers go out on the decks during the navigation?
Yes, as long as the crew authorizes it and navigation conditions allow. The boat has outdoor decks that passengers can access during the tour to enjoy the views, take photographs and contemplate the glaciers and Patagonian landscapes in the open air.
