Description
The Todo Glaciares: Upsala and Spegazzini boat tour is a spectacular full-day excursion departing from El Calafate. It includes the approach to the Upsala and Spegazzini glaciers and disembarkation in the Spegazzini Refuge for an hour and a half.

If you book Todo Glaciares: Upsala and Spegazzini tour with pick up from your hotel in El Calafate, you will be picked up at 7:00 a.m. to begin the 47-km journey to Port Punta Bandera, from where the boat departs at 9:00 a.m. If you have your own vehicle, you must get to Port Punta Bandera at 8:30 a.m.

The first part of the tour takes place on the northern arm of Lake Argentino, crossing the Devil's Mouth, the narrowest part of the lake. Then, you head to the Upsala and Spegazzini Channels, where you can see the Upsala and Spegazzini glaciers at the end of each channel. The Upsala Glacier is the largest glacier in Lake Argentino, visible from about 20 km away, and the Spegazzini Glacier is the highest. You can also see the Seco, Heim Sur, and Peineta glaciers. The excursion takes you among spectacular icebergs of enormous size and varied shapes.

Later, you disembark and begin a 300-meter easy hike through the forest along the lake shore, stopping at viewpoints overlooking the entire Glaciers Bay. Upon arrival at the Spegazzini Refuge, you can have lunch and admire the landscape from inside or from the outdoor terrace.

After completing your visit to the Spegazzini Refuge, you will return to the boat to begin the journey back to Port Punta Bandera. Then, you will board the bus and return to El Calafate after haved enjoyed an incredible full-day excursion that included visits to the Upsala, Spegazzini, Seco, Heim Sur, and Peineta Glaciers.

For those passengers who want to take the tour in a more exclusive way, the Captain's Club service is also offered. This lounge, located inside the restaurant of the Spegazzini Glacier and in a special deck of the boat, includes Open Bar with cafeteria service and unlimited alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, a 3-step menu (appetizer, main course and dessert) while you enjoy a unique panoramic view. In addition, you will have preferential location on the boat and a host and guide available throughout the tour.
