Description

Description
Chalten full day: Winter is a full-day excursion departing from El Calafate to El Chalten. It includes a city tour, visit to panoramic viewpoints, hike to Mirador de los Condores Viewpoint, lunch at a restaurant, visit to Chorrillo del Salto and free time to explore the city, always accompanied by a guide. It is ideal for those who want to visit Chalten in a relaxed and low-stress way while marveling at the spectacular views of the iconic Mount Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre.

The excursion begins with pick-up from your hotel in El Calafate at 7:00 a.m. to travel 220 km along the legendary Route 40 towards El Chalten. On the 1 hour and 15 minute journey, you will skirt Lake Argentino, crossing the Santa Cruz and La Leona Rivers until you reach the old roadside hotel called Parador La Leona (virtually a Route 40 museum), where you can enjoy coffee and homemade cakes.

After this stop, the tour continues along Lake Viedma with the Andes Mountains in the background. Before reaching El Chalten, there will be stops at viewpoints where you can see Mount Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre. From there, you will enjoy spectacular panoramic view of the mountain village, the Andes Mountains and these iconic Patagonian peaks. After taking some photographs, we will continue the journey to the picturesque town of El Chalten.

After a 3-hour trip, the first activity will be to visit the National Parks Interpretation Center and take a hike to Mirador de los Condores (trail conditions apply). After visiting this famous viewpoint, you will have lunch at a restaurant in the city center. After lunch, you will visit Chorrillo del Salto (a famous waterfall located just minutes from the city center) and take a relaxing walk through the forest. Then, you will explore the historic center, the main square, the Chapel of the Climbers, and the waterfront. After the city tour, you will have free time to explore the area on your own.

After a beautiful day in the National Capital of Trekking, you will return to El Calafate, arriving at 7:00 p.m.

This tour is perfect for those looking to experience the beauty of Patagonia in winter without too much physical effort.
