Extreme 4x4 Adventure is a half-day excursion that offers you the chance to experience a true adventure in El Calafate by driving a powerful UForce 1000 4x4 ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) to Balcones de El Calafate, located at the top of Cerro Williche. During the tour, you will visit the caves and overhangs of this hill with the most fascinating views of Lake Argentino and the Andes Mountains. You will also walk in the Stone Labyrinth, where you will have a snack. Then, you will continue to Estancia Huyliche, where you will enjoy lunch or dinner.
The excursion begins with pickup from your hotel in El Calafate and transfer to the base of Cerro Williche, located behind the city. Upon arrival at the estancia at the base of the hill, you will meet the 4x4 ATV vehicles. Before the start of the adventure, your guide will provide information on safety precautions and driving rules for the off-road trail.
After getting accustomed to these vehicles, you will begin the ascent to Cerro Williche through the Calafate Creek canyon to the balconies with the most beautiful views of Lake Argentino and the Andes Mountains, including Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre. This moment will allow you to experience firsthand the adrenaline rush of driving a 4x4 and live a unique adventure in El Calafate. Upon reaching the summit of the hill, from a natural viewpoint located at 1,100 meters, you will enjoy the spectacular view. After beginning the descent down the south face of Cerro Williche, you will access Laberinto de Piedras, a rock formation of caves and marine fossils that you can walk through. There, we will enjoy a hot soup, a snack and refreshments before continuing the descent.
Upon arriving back at Estancia Huyliche, located at the base of the hill, lunch or dinner will be offered at the on-site restaurant.
