Description
Kayaking in front of the Perito Moreno Glacier is a truly unique experience in the world, allowing participants to paddle among icebergs and admire the glacier’s impressive northern face from a completely different perspective.
The excursion includes a tandem kayak journey through the Iceberg Channel on Lake Argentino and a visit to the Perito Moreno Glacier walkways, combining adventure, nature, and unforgettable scenery. Groups are small, with a maximum of 20 participants per day, ensuring a personalized and safe experience.
Guests who book the excursion with hotel transfers from El Calafate are picked up starting at 7:30 a.m. and taken to Los Glaciares National Park. Those who do not book the transfer service must arrive at 10:00 a.m. at the lower parking area of the Perito Moreno Glacier, where guides will escort them to the dome located in front of the beach.
Once at the dome, participants are provided with the necessary technical equipment (Gore-Tex dry suit, thermal suit, boots, gloves, and life jacket) and attend an introductory briefing on paddling techniques and safety procedures. Specialized guides accompany participants throughout the entire activity to ensure a safe and unforgettable experience.
After a series of warm-up exercises, the kayaking adventure in front of the Perito Moreno Glacier begins. During the navigation, always accompanied by the guides, participants have the opportunity to paddle among stunning icebergs and admire the glacier from a privileged perspective, experiencing the true scale and grandeur of nature. After approximately one and a half hours of paddling, the group returns to the beach and the dome, where a snack with hot beverages is served.
Afterward, guests who have booked the transfer service visit the walkways of Los Glaciares National Park, enjoying approximately two hours to explore the different balconies and panoramic trails that offer spectacular views of the Perito Moreno Glacier and its frequent ice calving events.
To conclude the excursion, participants return to the city of El Calafate at approximately 5:30 p.m., after having enjoyed one of the most exclusive and memorable experiences Patagonia has to offer.
