Description
The Perito Moreno Night Experience is a unique nighttime proposal that combines the magic of the Perito Moreno Glacier under the light of the full moon with astronomical observation guided by an astronomer with years of experience. You will enjoy the glacier's balconies illuminated by the full moon and stars, learn to read the southern sky and do light painting with the imposing glacier as your natural background. This is a special tour since the Perito Moreno Glacier's balconies have been closed to the public at night for the past 20 years.
During the excursion, the astronomer will share his knowledge of the constellations visible from Patagonia, the legends surrounding them and the history of astronomy. You will observe the moon and stars reflected in the waters of Lake Argentino and the Perito Moreno Glacier in a completely silent and majestic setting.
The tour begins when we pick you up from your hotel in El Calafate at 9:00 p.m., and head to Los Glaciares National Park outside of regular visiting hours. From the Perito Moreno Glacier balconies, you will enjoy a privileged view of the glacier illuminated by the full moon and stars, while the astronomer guide explains how to identify celestial bodies and photograph the night sky.
You will witness a unique spectacle: the reflection of the full moon and stars on the ancient ice of the Perito Moreno Glacier. You will also participate in light painting activities, learning simple techniques to capture the immensity of the Patagonian sky.
Finally, you will return to your hotel in El Calafate around 2:00 a.m., having lived an unforgettable experience that combines the grandeur of the glacier with the magic of the universe.
