Description
The Lakes Offroad 4x4 tour is an exciting adventure in Ushuaia as you visit Lake Escondido and Lake Fagnano in modern 4x4 vehicles while traveling through Fuegian forest trails crossing streams, viewpoints and beaches. You will enjoy unique views of the lakes and valleys of the Andes Mountains and the northern area of the island of Tierra del Fuego while traveling along alternative roads knowing the history of the first forestry exploitations and enjoying lunch in a refuge.
The tour begins when we pick you up at your hotel in Ushuaia starting at 8:00 a.m. in high-end 4x4 vehicles to head with the guide along National Route Nº3 in a northeasterly direction.
The first stop of the tour will be at the Carbajal Valley Viewpoint where you can enjoy the view of this valley of glacial origin and which is crossed by the Olivia River. Then, you continue along the same route to begin the 4x4 tour along alternative roads that run through the Fuegian forest and that will allow you to cross the Andes Mountains.
Upon reaching the highest point of the mountain range you will arrive at the famous Garibaldi Pass from where you will have the first panoramic view of Lakes Escondido and Fagnano. From here begins the descent along a very winding path next to a cliff that will make the adrenaline rise and that take us closer to the head of Lake Escondido while crossing to the northern part of the island.
After visiting this lake, the tour continues along alternative roads exclusively for 4x4s, entering the forest while passing through areas that were used by old forestry operations. This journey will take us to the coast of Lake Fagnanofrom where you can observe the Magellanic Fault while touring its beaches in a 4x4.
To finish the tour, you will headed to a restaurant in the area surrounded by the Patagonian forest for lunch and then return to the city of Ushuaia at 4:00 p.m. after having experienced a unique and exciting adventure at the End of the World.
