Description

Description
The long boat tour in Ushuaia offers the possibility of visiting the Beagle Channel and its most notable tourist attractions such as Isla de los Lobos, Isla de los Pájaros, the Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse and the penguin colony of Isla Martillo, main panoramic point of the excursion. The boat tour offers beautiful views of the End of the World landscape and its local birdlife, as well as an excellent opportunity to learn about the history of this remote southern area.

In case of booking the boat tour with transfer from your hotel, you will be picked up at the agreed time and transported to the port of Ushuaia.

The boat tour begins from the port located a few meters from the city center, crossing the Ushuaia Bay until reaching the Beagle Channel through the Paso Chico.

The first panoramic point of the tour is Isla de los Pájaros where you can appreciate the Fuegian birdlife, observing skuas, black-browed albatrosses, steamer ducks, cauquenes, kelp gulls and gray gulls. Then, the navigation continues towards Isla de los Lobos where you can observe one- and two-haired sea lions. Both islands belong to the Bridges Archipelago.

Upon arriving at the Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse, the obligatory protagonist of all the photographs of those who visit the End of the World, you can see colonies of imperial cormorants and rock cormorants while the guide tells the story of the sinking of the SS Monte Cervantes.

Once you have visited the lighthouse, you sail in an easterly direction, watching in the distance Port Almanza on the Argentine side and Port Williams Naval Base on the Chilean side. Arriving at Isla Martillo, the engines are turned off on the shore of the beach to see the penguins from the boat in their natural habitat. Two species of penguins coexist on this island: the Magellanic and the Gentoo.

To finish the tour, you return to the port of Ushuaia sailing near the coast of the Beagle Channel, observing Estancia Túnel and Estancia Remolino while enjoying views of the city framed by the Cordón Martial in the background.
