Description

Description
The Trekking and Canoeing excursion in Ushuaia is an activity to visit Tierra del Fuego National Park in a different way by combining the visit to Ensenada Bay, an 8 km trek along the coast of the Beagle Channel and through the Fuegian forest and canoeing from Lake Roca/Acigami to Lapataia Bay. You will discover the End of the World while enjoying an adventure with landscapes of sea, mountains and forest. Lunch is included in a dome next to Lapataia River.

After being picked up from your hotel in Ushuaia at 8:30 a.m. you will travel 10 km in vehicles to the Tierra del Fuego National Park where you will arrive at Ensenada Bay and from where you will begin trekking in the company of the guides through the forest along the coast of the channel. Here you can enjoy beautiful views of the Beagle Channel and the Redonda, Hoste and Navarino Islands. The trek along the Coastal Path lasts 3,5 hours while you travel 7 km that lets you know the flora and birdlife of the Beagle Channel and the Fuegian forest, as well as vestiges of ancient Yámanas settlements (indigenous natives of the place).

After the trekking, on the banks of Lapataia River, a hot lunch will be offered in a heated dome with panoramic views.

After lunch, you will head to Lake Roca/Acigami to begin the second part of the adventure. The guides will provide rubber boots, trouser covers and life jackets to start the navigation aboard inflatable canoes called “duckies”. This activity is of low difficulty and lasts approximately 1 hour through the Lapataia and Ovando rivers until reaching the sea in Lapataia Bay and very close to the famous sign that indicates the completion of National Route Nº3.

To finish the tour, you return to the city of Ushuaia by vehicle after having visited the Tierra del Fuego National Park in a different way. You will arrive at the hotels at approximately 4:30 p.m. The excursion will be confirmed once a minimum of 2 people have registered.
