Tierra del Fuego National Park

Classic excursion to visit Tierra del Fuego National Park without physical demands departing from the city of Ushuaia and with time to visit the different panoramic points in a calm manner. This activity proposes a guided visit to the southernmost National Park in Argentina, where the marine environment of the Beagle Channel, the subantarctic forest and the Andes Mountains combine.

The tour begins from your hotel in Ushuaia where we will pick you up to begin the journey to the national park heading west. After traveling 8 km and leaving the city, you arrive at the first stop of the tour, which is the End of the World Train station.

There you can visit the train station, take photos and take the optional train ride, traveling 7 km of the old prisoners' railway route. Those passengers who have added this service, at the end of the train ride, will meet with the guide and the rest of the group to continue with the visit to the national park.

Within Tierra del Fuego National Park you will visit the Ensenada Bay, taking a relaxed 20-minute walk accompanied by the guide who will explain the flora, fauna, geography and history of the place. Here you can also stamp your passport at the on-site post office, as long as it is open; its operation depends on the post office’s opening hours. From the month of May and during winter months, this bay is not visited due to the state of the road, which becomes impassable.

The excursion continues through the lenga forest until reaching the coast of Lake Roca/Acigami, a lake shared with Chile. From there you will take a short tour along the coast of the Lapataia River to then arrive at the Alakush Visitor Center, where you will have time to use the restrooms, visit the interpretation room and the cafeteria.

The tour continues through the national park until reaching the end of National Route Nº 3, in Lapataia Bay, the culminating panoramic point. Here you will witness vestiges of Yamanas settlements (native settlers of the area) while the guide tells about their customs and ways of life. The landscape of forest, sea and mountains stands out spectacularly and invites you to pause to take photos of the End of the World and the sign indicating the end of National Route Nº 3.

To finish the tour, you return to Ushuaia along the same path, once again enjoying the forest, mountains and landscape after having visited the most famous panoramic points of the End of the World.
